Joseph A.R. "Little Joe" Anderson

Bridgeport ~ Joseph A.R. “Little Joe” Anderson, 88, a retired machinist, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 4, 2018 in Decatur.

Graveside is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Fred Raney will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include Michael Wallace, Dustin Anderson, Leslie McMahon, Jason Anderson, Jack Anderson, Jody Anderson, Travis Grant, and Eric Doyle “Anderson”.

Little Joe was born on August 4, 1929 to William Joseph and Audra Ethel (Recer) Anderson in Vernon, Texas. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Nard on January 1, 1991in Lake Bridgeport. He was an AM Hamm Radio Operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Jodie Anderson; 6 brothers and sisters; his grandson, Eric Doyle “Anderson”

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Anderson of Bridgeport; his sons, Eddie Anderson and wife Darla of Lake Bridgeport, Terry Anderson of Bowie and David Anderson and wife Deborah of Decatur; his daughters, Carolyn Anderson Speers and husband Danny of Caddo, Oklahoma, Audrey Anderson Bates of Burleson and Sherrie Anderson of Kiowa, Oklahoma; numerous grand, great grand and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
