Bridgeport ~ Jorge Chavez, 49, went to be with our Lord Sunday, May 4, 2025 in Bridgeport.

Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 9th, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 8th, at the funeral home with Rosary at 7:00 p.m..

Jorge was born on September 8, 1975 to Valentin and Juana Chavez in Mexico. He spent 30 years working as a construction worker at Duininck Inc., putting in a lot of hard work and effort over the years. Jorge was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many that will miss him dearly.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jessica Rhine of Springtown, Joann Marciel of Gainesville, Juana Maria Tapia of Bridgeport, and Brianna Chavez of Rhome; his grandchildren, Oliver Chavez, Leah Rhine, Harley Rhine, Jeremiah Tapia, Derick Rhine, Bella Rose Tapia, Mera Marciel, Tate Rhine, Adan Tapia, and Ariella Campos; his brother, David O. Chavez of Bridgeport; and his sister, Margarita Chavez of Arlington; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
