Decatur ~ Jonnie Cortez Bishop, 95, a retired seamstress, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 28, 2014 in Decatur, Texas.
Graveside service is 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Sweetwater Cemetery. There will be no set family visitation.
Rev. Gerre Joiner will officiate.
Jonnie was born on November 20, 1918 to Sam and Myrtle Jo (Newberry) Chisolm in Mingus, Texas. She was united in marriage to George Wayne Bishop in the year of 1941 in Mingus, Texas. Jonnie was an avid seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son; 1 brother; 3 sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Tom Bishop and wife Jean of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Sam Bishop and wife Militza of Decatur, Laura Moore of Rhome, Bobby Bishop and wife Kim of Celina, and Alex Bishop of Denison; 7 great grandchildren, Bryan, Kinley, Nicholas, Alexis, McKenzie, Rolla, and Delaney; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
