Roanoke ~ Johnny Ray Speights, 59, a truck driver, went to be with our Lord Friday, October 16, 2015 in Denton.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Cody Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers include Justin Speights, Eric Whitford, William Brunson, Gary Speights, Kelton Gayoso, David Miaso, Charles Flanagan and Jeremy Calvery.
Johnny was born on March 1, 1956 to Junior and Joyce (Robbins) Speights in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was united in marriage to Lisa Thomas on August 26, 1983 in Denton. Johnny served his country in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Merrill Beam; his brother-in-law, Gary Elliott; and his nephew, Brian Elliott.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Lisa Speights of Roanoke; his son, Justin Speights and wife Trish of Denton; his daughters, Becky Speights and fiance' Eric Whitford of Cleburne; Cara Speights and fiance' William Brunson of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Morgan, Hannah, Dovie and Addison; his mother, Joyce Speights of Paradise; his sisters, Sandra Wright and husband Doug of Paradise, Carolyn Elliott of Krum; his brother, Donald Speights and wife Sherry of Roanoke; other family members and a host of friends.
