Johnny Reese Milam

Bridgeport ~ Johnny Reese Milam, 70, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Decatur.

Johnny was born on October 7, 1955, to Silas Johnny and Carl Ruth (Self) Milam in Colleyville, Texas. Johnny spent many hardworking years as a truck driver before retiring. He was a true outdoorsman who found some of his greatest joy in fishing, hunting, and simply being surrounded by the beauty of nature. Proudly calling himself “Mountain Man,” Johnny embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a love for the great outdoors. The memories of his stories, his independent spirit, and the simple joys he cherished will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Johnny was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Carl Ruth Milam; his son, Luis Alex Milam; and his brother, Mike Milam.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Dayna Milam, Anthony Reese Milam, and Brenda Yanet Milam; his grandchildren, Marie Chavez, Alex Milam, Silas Milam, John Paul Milam, Matthew Mojica, Anthony Scafidi, Alejandra Scafidi, Jaiden Milam, and Maximus Aguiniga; other relatives and a host of friends.
