Rhome ~ Johnny Edward Hardee, 73, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Officiant is Rocky Johnson. Pallbearers include Gavin Haynes, Bryan Gibson, Jacob Haynes, Don Jarrett, Dennis Young, and Shane Young. Honorary Pallbearers include Kasen Hardee, Brandon Hardee, Jayson Hardee, Justin Hardee, Dustin Hardee, Jayce Hardee, Lawson O’Connor, Devon Hardee, and Ruben Cantu.
Johnny was born August 10, 1949 to Samuel Edward B. and Odessa (Taylor) Hardee in Decatur, Texas. He was retired from DB Commercial Contractors after many years as a construction foreman. Johnny was a Decatur High School graduate. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Odessa Hardee; and a grandson, Riley.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Wesley Hardee of Rhome, and Tim Hardee and wife Kelly of Forestburg; his daughters, Cheryl Haynes of Decatur, and Misty Schwartz and husband Ricky of Paradise; his 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Weldon Hardee and wife Sheila of Sunset, and Milton Hardee Sr. of Decatur; his sisters, Evelyn Meador of Decatur; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
