Decatur ~ John Preston Wroe, 93, went to be with our Lord Friday, June 8, 2018 in Decatur.

F uneral is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.

Rick Ross will officiate.

John was born on November 12, 1924 to Sam and Artie (LeVassar) Wroe in Frankston, Texas. He was united in marriage to Christine Norton on March 11, 1950 in Decatur. John was a retired instrument electrician for American Oil Company. He was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ. John served his country in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Christine Wroe of Decatur; his sons, John Kent Wroe and wife Teresa of Pearland, Troy Scott Wroe and wife Cheryl of Prosper; his daughter, Debra Annette Brown and husband James of Iowa Colony, Texas; his grandchildren Amy Sharpe, James Cole Brown, Aaron Brown, and Felicia Wroe; his great grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, Owen, Archie, Hunter, and Annie; and a host of friends.
