Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral in Decatur, Texas.
John was born May 27, 1951 in Sedalia, Missouri to John August and Jimmie Charlene (Smith) Herbst. He was preceded in death by his father.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Samantha Herbst of Grapevine; mother, J. Charlene Herbst of Kansas City, Missouri; aunt and uncle, James and Jenny Ellison of Bella Vista, Arkansas; other family members and a host of friends.
