John DiBattista Jr.
September 22, 1949 – June 19, 2026
John DiBattista Jr., 76, of Boyd, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2026. He was born on September 22, 1949, in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, and lived a life of extraordinary purpose, service, and faith.
John was a man of many callings and answered every one of them to the fullest.
As a young man, John served as a pilot in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the discipline, courage, and sense of duty forged in uniform into every chapter of his life that followed. He went on to build a distinguished career as an executive, and later as a coach and consultant, investing his experience and wisdom into all the people around him.
No calling defined John more profoundly than his faith. A minister and evangelist with The Church of Jesus Christ, headquartered in Monongahela, PA, he devoted decades of his life to leading world missions, carrying a message of hope and transformation to communities near and far. He was a spiritual teacher, mentor, and role model to countless individuals who were shaped by his presence.
In the final expression of that calling, John authored Tell Them That I Love Them: Living in the Power of the Spirit—a book born of direct inspiration from God. Within its pages, he recounted the defining moments of his life in which the hand of the Lord intervened, redirected, and sustained him, each account a testament to his unwavering belief that his life had been consecrated to a singular and sacred purpose: to bring people to Christ.
At the heart of everything John did was his family. He and Caryl Lee King were high school sweethearts who graduated together with the Elizabeth Forward High School Class of 1967, and were married that same year in Hershey, Pennsylvania — beginning a love story that would span over 58 years. John and Caryl shared a deep love of horses, their own, Preacher and Princess Zoe, and recently Vigo and Dino at Beverly Bradley’s Farm.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Caryl; his daughter, Christine Grimm, and her children, William and Gabrielle, of Los Angeles, California; his son, John DiBattista III, his wife Candice and her son, Manny, of Granbury, Texas; and his grandson, Lincoln DiBattista, and Linc’s sisters, Isla Cape and Georgette Hollien Gamboa, of Los Angeles, California.
He is also survived by his sister, Jeanette, and her husband, Mark Framiglio, of South Carolina, and their daughters, Cathy Beesley and Nicole Framiglio; and his brother, Patrick, and his wife Melissa DiBattista, of Montana, their daughter Britany Jablonski, her husband Shane, and her son, Kalil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John DiBattista Sr. and Jovena “Jean” Sposato DiBattista, of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, and his niece, Jackie Oren, of Weems, VA.
To know John DiBattista was to meet a man who lived with conviction and loved without reservation. He made every person in his life feel seen, valued, and called to something greater.
