Mr. Bell was born March 25, 1931 in Decatur, Texas, to John Willie Bell, Sr. and Lalla Mae Folfier. He married Dorothy Nell Brooks on April 19, 1950 in Decatur.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday, January 7, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur, with Rev. C. D. Lockhart officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Cedric Evans, Rashad Willis, Darryl Russell, Ray Russell, Jr., Reggie Johnson and Carlton Wesson.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his sons John M. Bell and Tommy L. Bell of Decatur; daughters, Joyce A. Bell, Phyllis Russell and husband Ray, Linda Bell, of Decatur and Vanessa Bell of Denton; 8 grandchildren, Cedric Evans, LaToya Russell, Ray L. Russell, Jr., Darryl Russell, RaShad Willis, Destinye Willis, Constance Bell, and Chelsey Bell; 9 great grandchildren, Cedric Evans, II, Christian Williamson, Courtney Russell, Kevin Sim, Keaira Russell, Ezekiel Russell, Jasmine Russell, Hannah Russell and Tyce Willis;brother, Robert J. Bell of Ft. Worth; sisters, Maude A. Buckley of Ft. Worth, Patricia A. Domon and husband, Gene, of Groesbeck; Eva Davis of Mineral Wells; and a special niece, Gail McKenzie and husband, Thomas, of Fort Worth.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Connie Bell.
