BOYD -- Joe Thornton, 80, a retired pipe fitter, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Boyd. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. He was a proud World War II veteran paratrooper.
Survivors: Wife of 59 years, Betty Thornton of Fort Worth; daughter, Kathy Sherril and husband, Dennis, of Springtown; sons, Joseph Thornton Jr. of Euless, Bobby Thornton and wife, Kathy, of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Bessie Strickland of Demmitt; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
