March 3, 1922 — March 30, 2014
Chico ~ Joe Roberts Jr., 92, a retired machine tool repairman, went to be with our Lord Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Denison.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Lone Star Cemetery located off of FM 1810 between Chico and Decatur. No set visitation. Funeral home will be open til 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Robby Keith will officiate.
Joe was born on March 3, 1922 to Joe and Mattie (Prescot) Roberts in New Castle, Texas. Joe retired from General Dynamics as a maintenance machine tool repairman. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and mother of his children, Lena Mae Roberts and second wife, Bulah M. Roberts; his son, Joel Doyle Roberts; his brother, Cecil Allen Roberts; and his sisters, Etna Gooch and Leece Mae Roberts.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jolene Myers and husband Bob of Bells; his sons, Billy Roberts and wife Linda of Azle, Ronnie Roberts and wife Darlene of Kerville, Cecil Roberts and wife Tammy of Azle; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
