Jo Ann (Nivens) Bell

Jo Ann Bell, 90, of Alvord went to be with her Lord & Savior Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

Pastor Ken herring will officiate. Pallbearers include Kyle Parker, Karson Parker, Kooper Parker, Conner Parker, Colton Parker, Tyce Willis, and Drew Staley.

Jo Ann was born August 22nd, 1934 to Luther and Sibyl (Swaim) Nivens in Alvord, Texas. She graduated Alvord High School and has worked and been a big part of Alvord First Baptist Church for many years. Jo Ann was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Sibyl Nivens; a son, Joey Parker, and a brother, Thomas Nivens.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Parker and wife Sandy of Alvord, and Scott Bell and wife Kelly of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Gaye Houston and husband Jay of Runaway Bay; 11 grandchildren, Ronnie, Shawn, & Cody Parker, Jayme Staley, Ross Houston, T.J. Houston, Dustin Bell, Hannah Bell, Holden Marrs, Kirah Butler, and Molly Butler; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Wayne Nivens; extended family and a host of friends.
