Paradise ~ Jimmy Dale Tackett, 81, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Bridgeport.

Funeral Service is at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 28th, at First Baptist Church in Cottondale, with burial at Friendship Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Jimmy was born on April 3, 1945, to Albert Jefferson and Annie Pearl (White) Tackett in Lewisville, Texas. He was united in marriage to Nelda Jean Sipes on February 4, 1964, in Boyd. He owned and operated Jim Tackett Electric before retiring as an electrical contractor and home builder. A hardworking and devoted man, he found purpose in providing for his family and took great pride in the life they built together. Above all, his family was his greatest treasure, and the love, wisdom, and cherished memories he gave them will remain in their hearts forever. His legacy of hard work, love, and devotion will continue to live on through the family he loved so dearly. Jimmy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Annie Tackett; his great-grandson, Bryker; and his brother, Junior Tackett.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Nelda Jean Tackett of Paradise; his sons, Darrin Tackett and his wife, Gina, and Chris Tackett, both of Paradise; his grandchildren, Chase Tackett and his wife, Shay of Paradise, and Hannah Tackett Davis and her husband, Morgan of Bridgeport; his great-grandchildren, Zacharias, River, Kooper, Elijah, Ledger, Ellyana, Zeb, and Wrenley; his brother, Tommy Tackett and his wife, Rhonda of Boyd; his sister, Marie Kemp of Newark; other relatives and a host of friends.
