ALVORD -- Jimmy "Jim" Cross, 54, of Alvord, a truck driver for Shale Tank Trucks and a beloved husband, dad and granddad, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in Dallas.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at Pleasant View Baptist Church. Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 3, Chico. Officiating: Rev. Gary Demmitt. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Juan Mercer, Shane Smith, Jeff Keller, Dave Gunnell, David O'Dell, Xavier O'Dell.
Jim was born Oct. 16, 1953 in Lawton, OK. He served in the U S. Marines and was a member of the American Legion. He was very proud to serve his country. Jim married Marilyn O'Dell Aug. 6, 1974 in Bridgeport.
Survivors: Wife, Marilyn of Alvord; daughters, Sherry Peters and husband, Eric of Alvord and Norma Gayle Cross of Heidelberg, Germany; son, Gary Cross of Austin; grandchildren, Christian and Michaela Cross Peters; sister, Barbara Crouse and husband, James of Grapevine; brother, James Cross of Colorado; and a host friends.
