Jimmy Dale Brewer

August 31, 1955 — December 5, 2014

Bridgeport ~ Jimmy Dale Brewer, 59, a retired delivery man, went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 5, 2014 in Bridgeport at Stagecoach Rehabilitation.

Memorial is 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 at First United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Rev. Sam Caldwell will officiate.

Jimmy was born on August 31, 1955 to E.J. “Bill” and Nellie Katherine “Mollie” (Dethloff) Brewer in Bridgeport. He was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport where he worked for Hartsell Feed Store, Gifford Hill Rock Crusher, Chico Crushed Stone, Dnya Mud Drilling, A&T Bearing and the Bridgeport Index. At a very young age, Jimmy Dale followed his family and joined the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport. He remembered the church’s first annual Thanksgiving Dinner and helped the church every year prepare magnificent dinners made with love for Wise County residents. In 1989, Jimmy Dale received the gift of life through a kidney transplant allowing him to help his family, his church, and his community for the past 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charlie Roscoe Brewer.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his brother, Billy Jay Brewer and wife Leanna of Bridgeport; his sisters, Nellie Redwine and husband James of Chico and Roxie Rumbaugh and husband Joe of La Grange; four nephews, two nieces, nine great nephews, eight great nieces, one great-great niece, other relatives and a host of friends.
