Jessie Mae (Hardee) Cole

October 12, 1928 — May 25, 2017

Decatur ~ Jessie Mae Cole, 88, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bob Ross will officiate. Pallbearers include Bodie Cole, Chris Fletcher, Jerry Myers, Wayne East, Berl McCasland, and Jerl McCasland.

Jessie was born on October 12, 1928 to Samuel and Maudie (Covington) Hardee in Goree, Texas. She was united in marriage to Willie Clyde Cole on September 6, 1947 in Decatur. Jessie was a member of the Church of Christ in Greenwood. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. Jessie loved gardening and canning vegetables, taking pictures of things she loved. She loved her sports, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and the Mavericks. Jessie loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Ed and Frank Hardee; her sister, Jonnie McCasland.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Sammy Cole of Greenwood, Cylde Cole of Greenwood; her grandchildren, Courtney Fletcher and husband Chris of Greenwood, Bodie Cole and wife Shannon of Greenwood; her great grandchildren, Mylee and Macklyn Fletcher, and Cash Cole and one on the way; her sisters, Hattie Fulton and Willie Lee Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
