Jerry Dwain Yates

Denton ~ Jerry Dwain Yates, 90, passed from this Earth Monday, April 1st, 2024 in Decatur, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will be at a future date.

Jerry was born June 9th, 1933 to Willard Paul and Flora Olive (Adair) Yates in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage June 27th, 1987 to Bonnie Kay Gardner in Perrin, Texas. Jerry graduated from Texas A&M University and was a self-employed salesman entrepreneur for many years before retiring. He proudly served our country in the United States Airforce, and was a First Lieutenant from 1955 to 1957. Jerry was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Flora Yates; and his wife, Bonnie Kay Yates.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jerri Lynn Benson and husband Rick of Paradise; his grandsons, Travis Benson of Ft. Worth, Brad Benson and wife Courtney of Rhome, and Brandon Benson and wife Meghan of Runaway Bay; his granddaughter, Brook Zablosky and husband Greg of Ft.Worth; a niece, Karen Wells of Katy; great-niece’s, Blaire Wade of Katy, and Jenni Guyer of Richmond; long time friend, Sylvia Mawhee of Flower Mound; extended family members and a host of friends.
