Jerry Bruce Fussell

Jerry Bruce Fussell, 77, peacefully passed from this life Wednesday, October 29, 2025, surrounded by family.

Funeral will be 2 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd, with burial at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.

Rev. Fred Raney will officiate. Pallbearers include Hayden Perdue, Jay Brian Fussell, Chase Perdue, Michael Lira, Chris Plaunty and Jonathon Gehringer.

Bruce, as he was known by family and friends, was born to J.B. and Virginia (Adams) Fussell on December 11, 1947, in Lufkin, Texas. He graduated from Brewer High School then proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1967-1973, after service to his country ended, Bruce worked for Lockheed Martin as a maintenance mechanic until retirement. He enjoyed being with his family and was always up for a good time. Bruce was a loving father, grandfather and a true friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Virginia Fussell.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sherry Perdue and husband Hayden; son, Jay Bryan Fussell and wife Malorie; grandchildren; Avery and Chase Perdue, his longtime furry companion “D. Dog”, numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
