Jerry Don Clark

Mar 13, 1942 — Jul 4, 2026

Arlington

Jerry Don Clark, 84, of Arlington, Texas, passed peacefully into his Heavenly home on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas, with burial to follow at East Bridgeport Cemetery. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jerry was born on March 13, 1942, in Decatur, Texas, to Edward Bolen Clark Jr. and Gladys Priscilla (Atchley) Clark. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1959 before earning his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of North Texas in 1963.

In 1963, Jerry married Charlotte Louise Puckett, and together they had two children, Lisa and Brian.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a commissioned Second Lieutenant at Amarillo Air Force Base. During his four years as a Base Supply Officer, he attained the rank of Captain.

After his military service, Jerry worked briefly for Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV) before beginning a distinguished career in the insurance industry. For more than 40 years, he served in executive leadership roles with several insurance companies and associations before retiring in 2011.

On July 20, 1985, Jerry married Constance Gostas in Dallas, Texas. They shared 41 years of marriage and had two children together, Nicholas and Kathryn.

Outside of work, Jerry enjoyed fishing, never missed a chance to attend the horse races and treasured spending time with his family above all else. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, generous heart and quiet kindness. Whether greeting someone with his signature, "Howdy do?", or sharing a meal with family and friends, Jerry had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He cared deeply for his family and was well-loved by everyone who knew him. And no matter how full the meal, there was always room for dessert.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Bolen Clark Jr. and Gladys Priscilla Clark; and his brother, Kenneth Lynn Clark.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Constance Clark of Arlington; his daughter, Lisa Clark Prince (Brett) of Plano, and their children, Schaefer (Jori), Rylie and Dodge, along with great-granddaughters, Karra and Penelope; his son, Brian Clark (Lara) of Lewisville and their daughters, Kendall and Madison; his son, Nicholas Clark (Kate) of Arlington; his daughter, Kathryn Clark of Dallas; his nephews, nieces, and their families; and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jerry's memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
