Jeffery "Bear" Akers, Sr.

Jeffery “Bear” Akers, Sr., 61, of Decatur passed from this earth Monday, August 5th, 2024.

A Celebration of Life is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at his residence 3104 N. Cardinal Azle, Texas 76020.

Bear was born December 27th, 1962 to Mr. & Mrs. Carmel Akers in Troy, Mississippi. He was united in marriage October 3rd, 2015 to Rhonda Cole in Midlothian, Texas. Bear as everyone called him was a retired roofer after many years in the construction industry, and he proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a beloved husband, father, step-father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeff Akers, and his first wife, Cindy Akers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rhonda Jolly of Azle; his daughter, Nicky Akers and husband Dylan;  his grandsons, Christian & Tony Akers; his stepsons, David & Jay Boyd; step-daughter, Amanda Boyd; sister-in-law, Lisa Barclay and husband James; father-in-law, Robert Cole Jr.; brother-in-laws, Tony Cole & Robert Cole II; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a host of friends.
