Chickasha, Oklahoma~ J.D. Pitts, 86, a retired production supervisor, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial in Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery. No set visitation at the funeral home.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Jeff Resler, Chris McCurry, Randy Neighbors, Danny Neighbors, Kevin Lumsden, and Keith Bailey.
J.D. was born on November 14, 1928 to B.L. and Emma (Davidson) Pitts in Chico, Texas. He was united in marriage to Armetta Lumsden on January 1, 1949 in Sherman, Texas. J.D. retired from Mobil Oil as a production supervisor. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susie Tucker.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Armetta Pitts of Chickasha, Oklahoma; his daughter, Diane Resler and husband Roy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his son, Gary Pitts and wife Donna of Elk City, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Jeff Resler of Rogers, Arkansas and Julie McCurry of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Abby Resler, Grant Resler, and Mia McCurry; his brother, James Pitts of Kaufman, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
