Jacksboro ~ J.D. “Heavy” Erwin, 77, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord Monday, December 8, 2014 in Bridgeport.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Rev. Juanita Ransom-Bullard will officiate.
J.D. was born on August 30, 1937 to F.L (Buck) and Lilia (Brown) Erwin in Paradise, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a life time member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Erwin; and his granddaughter, Cecilia Phillips.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cecilia Phillips and husband D.P of Lovington, New Mexico, Sylvia Fletcher and husband Jimmy of Midland and Helen Erwin of Eugene, Oregon; his son, Curtis Erwin of Sherman; his grandchildren, Michael Fletcher, Alyshia Fletcher, J.D. Erwin, Porscha Erwin, Curtis Erwin, Kelley Phillips and Kristin Phillips; his great grandchildren, Jaxin Fletcher and Kaitlyn Fletcher; his brothers, Sam Erwin and wife Ginger of Paradise and Keg Erwin; other family members and a host of friends.
