Decatur: Janis Darlene Vickers, 71, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Monday, December 2nd at the Decatur Church of Christ, with Rick Ross officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include B.D. Lowe, Doyle Lowe, Derry Jones, Lyle Jones, Bob Hussey, and Willard Howell.
Janis was born December 6, 1941 in Seymour, Texas. She was united in marriage to Melvin Lester Vickers on July 16, 1966 in Seymour. She and Melvin were owners of Vic Printing since 1992. Janis was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ.
Left behind to cherish her memory are husband of 47 years, Melvin Vickers; two sons, Keith Vickers and wife, Donna all of Decatur; Jason Vickers and wife, Jennifer of Roanoke; and grandson, Jackson Vickers.
