Janet D. (Woodburn-Heron) Walker Pruett

Janet D. Walker Pruett, 91, died peacefully in her sleep on January 27th at her home in Slidell, TX. She was born in 1931 in Shooters Hill, Jamacia, the daughter of Percy Vivian and Edith Ethel Woodburn-Heron.

Graveside Memorial is 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Cogburn Cemetery in Cooke County.

Janet was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors because that’s what she believed God called her to do. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, being outdoors, and watching birds.

She is predeceased by her first husband, George A. Walker (d. 1980) and second husband, C. Elmer Pruett (d. 2003), brother Bernard Woodburn-Heron of Canada by way of Jamacia, and sister Heather Corkhill of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Survivors include: daughter Anna C. and her husband, Harry Kaszycki of Salina, Kansas; daughter Nancy J. and her husband, Norman Rasmussen of Kansas City, Missouri; son Paul A. and his wife, Nara Walker of Fort Worth, Texas; and twin brother Ian and his wife, Margo Woodburn-Heron of Quebec, Canada; along with 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
