Bridgeport~ Jane Price Dixon, 99, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Bridgeport.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at The First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial to follow in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Dr. Craig Erb will officiate.
Pallbearers are to include, Travis Whitcraft, Price Dixon, Raby Hawkins, Brant Hawkins, Trey Hawkins, Chase Hawkins, and Tommy Lasater. Honorary Bearers are Rob Hawkins, Pat Schmidt, Bud Gates, Buck Stevenson and David Clinard.
Jane was born on March 13, 1923 to Andrew Lawrence and Ellen Neoma (Davison) Price in Royse City, Texas. Jane met the love of her life, James L. “Pop” Dixon in the fourth grade, and were married on November 24, 1943 in Pensacola, Florida. They were together for 68 wonderful years until his passing on February 14, 2012. Her love for Pop never faltered. They were reunited again on Saturday afternoon. Jane was a retired educator, and had earned her BS Degree from TWU and her Masters of Education from ETSTC. She was passionate about education and modeled that to her family. In her teaching career, she taught schools within the Royse City, Garland, and Dallas School Districts for over 30 years in various positions. Jane remained an active member in the Texas Teachers Retirement Association for many years and She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, she loved her Lord, her church and her church family. Jane was a constant source of strength to her family and a blessing to many, she will be missed by all that knew and loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband James “Pop” Dixon.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, James L. “Dickie” Dixon, III and wife Wanda of Lake Bridgeport; her grandson, Price Dixon and Partner, Travis Whitcraft of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Rob Hawkins of Decatur, and Brant Hawkins and wife Stacey of Bridgeport; her great-grandchildren, Trey Hawkins, Chase Hawkins and wife Randee, Tiffany Hawkins and fiancé Luke Condron and Raby Hawkins and wife Kelsey; her great great-grandchildren, Hollyn, Carter and Hazel Jane Hawkins, and one on the way; many nieces and nephews, numerous extended family members, fellow church members and friends.
