Chico ~ James Robert “Bob” Brown, 79, a retired plastic foreman with Bell Helicopter, went to be with our Lord Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church Alvord with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Woolf, Mark Singletary, Ronnie Downing and D.J. Rater.
Bob was born on August 12, 1938 to Hubert and Nina Fay (Wadley) Brown in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Wanda Walker on May 2, 1958 in Fort Worth. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord where he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Darlene Strong.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years Wanda Brown of Chico; his daughters, Cynthia Diane Singleton and husband Larry of Odessa, Tenna Inez Rogers of Decatur and Belinda Kay Bowyer and husband Doug of Chico; his grandchildren, Tiffany Woskowicz and husband Jesse, Tanya Miller and husband Nathan, James Singleton, Kim Stachowiak, Teran Sands and husband Carson, Tristyn Smith and husband Jake, Becca Singleton, Alyssa Renick and husband Hunter and Cameron Cozart and husband Cy; 10 great grandchildren; his sisters Linda Douthit and husband James of Fort Worth, Sharon Hatcher and husband George of Tolar; brother in law Joe Strong; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
