James O. Moran “Jimmy”

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial at Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born to Thomas J. & Ruth O. Moran in Fort Worth. He was raised in Rhome, Tx. & attended Northwest High School. Jimmy joined the United States Navy in 1960 & served until 1964 where he was an Honorable Recruit, firefighter & mechanic in the engine room of several LCU’s. He married Shirley Jane Petty on Dec. 6, 1961 & they were happily married until his death. They lived in Newark for their first 60 years before moving to Boyd, Texas.

Preceded-Parents, Mother-In-law- Arzille Petty, Father-in-law-Olin Petty, Brothers-Thomas E. & Ivy Wayne Moran, Nephew-Mike Granstaff, Niece-Jeanne Ruth Moran.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, 2 sons- James (Angie) & Scott (Sherrie), 6 grandchildren-Baylie (Jeremy), Josie (Jeremiah), Trace, Garrett (Abby), Kelen, Austin, Avrie & 7 great-grandchildren.
