James C. Jackson, Sr.

Bridgeport ~ James C. Jackson Sr., 84, went to be with our Lord Thursday, March 7, 2019, in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at First Baptist Church Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Bridgeport.

Dr. Craig Erb will officiate. Pallbearers include Blake Jackson, Heath Turner, Cody Romines, Ted Johnson, Tyler Noble, Mason McComis. Honorary pallbearers include Mike King, Earl Foster, Randy McComis, Dickie Dixon, Jim Bost, James White, Tommy Newton, Joey Duncan, and James Fisher.

James was born December 1, 1934, to George and Chessie (Nabors) Jackson in Rule, Texas. He was united in marriage January 6, 1956, to Charolotte Goggans in White Settlement, Texas. James was a member of First Baptist Church Bridgeport and a retired mechanic from Dynegy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Lillian Brother, and Margaret Urbanczyk.

Those Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Charolotte Rose Jackson; his daughters, Annette Jackson of Austin and Sherry Shahan and husband Darrall of Knox City; his son, James (Skip) Jackson and wife Sharon of Bridgeport; his 8 grandchildren; his 23 great-grandchildren; his 1 great-great-grandchild; his sisters, Geneva Erwin and husband Wayne of White Settlement, Dorothy Shepard and husband Jay of Mountainburg, Arkansas, and Betty Coppage of College Station; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
