James Glen Holder

December 2, 1959 – May 10, 2025

James Glen Holder, 65, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2025, passing peacefully and free from pain. Born on December 2, 1959, to Johnny Holder and Peggy (Baskin) Holder, James was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose quiet strength and generous heart touched everyone who knew him.

In his younger years, James loved life by the water—spending time at the lake, hunting, fishing, and soaking in the simple joys of nature and family. Some of the family’s most treasured memories were made during summers at Grandpa and Grandma's lake house, where James was right in the middle of it all. His niece and nephew, MaryBeth and Jonathan, fondly recall long days of jet skiing, night fishing, gardening, and ending the evenings with fish fries surrounded by laughter and love.

James had a special connection with his great-niece, Mabel Jo Milici, who brought endless smiles and light into his life. Their time together—especially sharing ice cream and laughter—will be cherished memories for the family forever.

The last decade of James’s life was marked by selfless love and unwavering dedication, as he helped care for his beloved parents in their later years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Peggy Holder. He is survived by his brother, Rodney Holder and wife Rhonda of Azle, Texas; his nephew, Jonathan Holder of Bridgeport; his niece, MaryBeth Milici and husband Taylor of Bridgeport; his great-niece, Mabel Jo Milici, the one who lit up his world the most; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

James also leaves behind the memory of his loyal companion, his dog Jake, and we take comfort in knowing the two are now reunited, dancing joyfully in heaven.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family will gather to honor James’s life in the way he would have wanted—filled with love, stories, and togetherness.

Though James is no longer with us, his gentle spirit, steady presence, and quiet acts of love will remain in our hearts always.
