Fort Worth ~ James Vernon "Jay" Ensey, 90, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord Friday, September 14, 2012 in Bedford.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 18th at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Rev. Kern Choate and Rev. Roy Lobb will officiate.

Pallbearers include Jack Cox, Don Gilley, David Migura, Dick Van Hoose, Sam Van Hoose, and Kent Worley.

Jay was born on October 17, 1921 to Henry R. and Lou (Hinkle) Ensey in Walters, Oklahoma. He was another member of what many call our "Greatest Generation". Jay worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1930s and served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was united in marriage to Martha Ozelle on June 10, 1994 in Chico. Although he worked for several service companies during his career, at the time of his retirement he was employed by Acme Brick. A lifelong devoted Christian, he was a member of Broad View Temple in Fort Worth.

Jay was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Barrett; his brother, Virgil Ensey; his sisters, Edith Shroff, Vergie Crofford, Dorothy Ensey, and Martha Tadlock.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Martha Ozelle of Fort Worth; his daughters, Sharon Kay Ross and husband T.J. of Denver, Colorado, Jaynell Sharum and husband Edward of Arlington, Beverly Ensey of Arlington, Becca Ensey of Arlington; his son, Kent Worley and wife Charlene of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Lisa, Brad, Scott, Sherea, Ryan, Jamie, Beth, Samantha, Brit'ne, and Alexandra; his great grandchildren, Devon, Zacharey, Chad, Kenzie, Aiden, Brayden and Brady; his great great grandchildren, Riley and Kylee; his brother, Kenneth Ensey and wife Joyce of Cooper, Texas; his sisters, Arlie Weever of Nocona, Bonnie Corcorn of Little Rock, Arkansas, Margaret Romine and husband Bob of Herber Springs, Arkansas; other relatives and a host of friends.
