Boyd ~ James A. Cash, 81, a retired ironworker, went to be with our Lord Monday, February 13, 2017 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
James was born on June 30, 1935 to Felix and Mattie Lou (Smith) Cash in Decatur. He was a retired Union Ironworker – Local 263. James was a member of the Baptist Church in Briar and the Azle VFW. He was a lifetime resident of Boyd and served his country in the United States Army.
James was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great sense of humor and his greatest joy was making people laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paulie Cash; his stepson, Jeff Hutton; his sisters, Jolene Franklin and Gladys Rickman.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Julie Cash Gaskill and husband Nick of Boyd; his brother, Winford Cash and wife Alice of Boyd; his sisters, Maudine Presley of Boyd and Nelda Bennett and husband Tommy of Rhome; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his stepdaughter, Veronia Rose of Poolville; his stepson, James Hutton and wife Peggy of Arlington; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
