Funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, January 6th at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with private burial at Hog Branch Cemetery. Rev. Dale Noska will officiate. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. James was born on December 1, 1926 to Edward and Sonora (Miller) Allen in Fort Worth. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy during WWII. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth with a Bachelors degree. Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eloise Sewell and Viva Swearingin; and brother, Dan Allen.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Timothy Doyle Allen of Lake Worth, Florida; his nieces and nephews, Joan Gotcher of Fort Worth, Jim Kemp of North Richland Hills, Phillip Swearingin of Salem, Oregon; Gena Pla of Madras, Oregon; Debbie Purcell of Jonesboro, Arkansas; John Allen of Salem, Oregon; many great nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
