Bridgeport ~ Jackie Lee Milton Sr., 83, a CEO, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Joplin.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Joplin Baptist Church with burial in Joplin Fairview Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Loury Drew Nero will officiate. Pallbearers include Jake Smith, Hank Cherryhomes, Thomas Cherryhomes, Clay Waymire, Jack Sawyer, and Louis Montgomery.
Jackie was born on January 21, 1932 to Robert and Ruby (Davis) Milton in Littlefield, Texas. He was united in marriage to Florence Knight on November 16, 1951 in Whitedeer, Texas. Jackie served his country in the U.S. Marines and received the National Defense Service medal. Jackie was a radar equipment foreman at General Dynamics, then he was the CEO on the Flightline. He was a member of the Joplin Baptist Church and a mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Milton and Ruby Inez Milton.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Florence Sarah Milton of Joplin; his sons, Jackie Lee Milton Jr. of Joplin and Richard Jerome Milton of Sandia, Texas; his daughters, Molly Kay Stingley and husband Todd of Denton, Emily Ann Felts and husband Barry of Granbury, and Janice Lynn Smith and husband James of Wills Point; his grandchildren, Thomas Roy Cherryhomes, William Henry Cherryhomes II, Heather Renee Sherman, Lauren Amber Felts, Jake Smith, Jessica Smith, and Zack Hunter Stingley; his great grandchildren, Macy Sherman, and Nina Sofia Cherryhomes; his sisters, Sue Williams of Houston and Beth Moveno and husband Joe of Port Arthur; other family members and a host of friends.
