Ivy Rose Grimes

Bridgeport ~ Ivy Rose Grimes, 90, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in Decatur.

Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9th, at Cooper Creek Cemetery in Denton. Family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

Ivy was born on January 4, 1936, to Floyd and Nellie Mane (Kesler) Crouch in Texas. She was united in marriage to Bobby Glenn Grimes in Denton, Texas, in 1981. Ivy devoted many years to her role as the housekeeping supervisor at the state school. She was a cherished member of the Balsora Baptist Church, a community that embraced her with love and support. Ivy was a beloved mother, sister, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Pearl Mane Hilliard and Jacque Beck.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 46 years, Bobby Grimes; her sons, Cody Lee Mills of Pilot Point, Bobby Jon Mills of Denton, and Jessey Allen Mills of Bridgeport; her sisters, Judy Solomon of Denton and Irene Phillips of Washington State; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
