PARADISE -- Iva Ruth Read Rhodes, 92, a retired secretary, died Monday, July 11, 2005, in Decatur. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Paradise. Burial: Laurel Land Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Iva Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paradise and a member of the Paradise Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Mack Rhodes, four brothers, and two sisters. Memorials: The First United Methodist Church of Paradise Building Fund. Pall bearers: Dike Read, Bodie Read, Derek Read, Michael Read, Justin Read, Reggie Read Survivors: Stepchildren, Howard Rhodes and Phyllis Testrake; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and other relatives; and caregiver, Julie Martin.
