Boyd ~ Ira Austin Wilson, 95, went to be with our Lord Monday, December 23, 2013 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Ira was born on April 29, 1918 to George and Sara (Guess) Wilson in Eastland County, Texas. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Ira was a retired U.S. Army Civil Service Quality Control Inspector and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Emma Othell Wilson; his second wife, Esther Evelyn Wilson, his sons, Ira J. and Dale Wilson; his brothers, Aubry, Milt, Clarence, and Kyle Wilson; his sisters, Omi, Lilly, Gladys and Lois.
Those left behind to cherish is memory are his daughters, Beth Hinds of Boyd and Gladys Carrol Lambert of Boyd; his grandchildren, Jason, Jenny, Kenneth, Emma, Holly, Billy, Marcy and Audra; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Sydney, Zebin, Lily, Hope, Amelia, Ogden, Benecio, Zane, Brieghley and Jude; other family members and a host of friends.
