Imogene "Jean" Eckey

Decatur~ Imogene “Jean” Tindel Eckey, 100, a retired teacher, went to be with our Lord Saturday, January 18th, 2020 in Decatur.

Memorial Service is 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.

Jean was born on June 4th, 1919 to Lee and Willie Warren in Athens, Texas. She was united in marriage to Ron Eckey on September 15, 1973 in Marshall County, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and was a long-time educator, retiring after teaching for 26 years at Bridgeport Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ron Eckey.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beverly Whitehead of Decatur; her granddaughters, Kim Whitehead Evans of Bridgeport and Keilly Johnson of Chico; her great grandchildren, Kristyl Evans, Jason Evans, Haley Evans, Mason Evans, and Ethyn Johnson; her great-great grandchildren, Brilee Evans, Makenna Evans, Kinley Evans, Paisley Evans, Waylon Willis, and Kamdyn Evans.
