Homer "Snuffy" Everett Brooks

Chico ~ Homer “Snuffy” Everett Brooks, 86, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10th, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Melvin Castleberry and Gabe Jones to officiate.

Homer was born on December 21, 1939 to Homer Elton and Annie Lee (Davidson) Brooks in Chico. He was united in marriage to Revena Raper in Chico. Homer retired from TXI, where he worked as a rock crusher and heavy equipment operator. His dedication and hard work will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of working with him. Homer was a member of Chico Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years. He was a beloved father, step-father, brother, uncle, and a friend to many that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Gober; his second wife, Revena Raper; his son, Jeff Brooks; his siblings, Methel Price, Darwin Brooks, and Patty Campbell.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are his daughter-in-law, Gina Brooks; his step-children, Wesley Rice, Blane Rice, Vella Thacker, Todd Cooper, and Cedie Pippin; his sister, Lavenia Berryman of Chico; his brother, Joseph Brooks and Carolyn of Bowie; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
