H.L. "Bill" Spain

Alvord ~ H.L. “Bill” Spain, 90, a retired postal worker, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Alvord.
Officiating Rev. Sam Campbell, Rev Veronica Greanead and Rev. Tom Merritt.
Bill was born on February 23, 1924 to Lowrey and Velma (Thomas) Spain in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Ball on May 31, 1946 in Decatur. Bill retired from the Postal Service after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Alvord. Bill served in the U.S. Marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Spain; his brothers, Marion Spain and Wayne Spain.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cammy Terrell and husband Kent of Chico; his grandsons, Zach Terrell and wife Emma of Denton, and Tyler Terrell of Denton; and a host of family and friends.
