Chico: Herbert Joseph Neu, 82, a retired loader operator for Gifford Hill went to be with our Lord Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Bridgeport.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Interment: Chico Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home, Bridgeport.
Rev. Monsignor Hubert Neu to officiate. Pallbearers: Wayne Cartwright, Steve Cartwright, Greg Cartwright, Larry Cartwright, Eugene Cartwright and Kurt Cartwright.
Herbert was born January 17, 1928 to Nicholas and Theresa Neu in Lindsay, Texas. . He served in the Army 1946-1947. He married Louise Marie Bierschenk July 17, 1965 in Fort Worth. Herbert was a member of the St. Johns Catholic Church in Bridgeport.
Herbert was preceded in death by his brother: Richard Neu; 3 sisters: Louise Herrick, Margaret Utley and Rita Cartwright.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Louise Neu of Chico, 2 sons: Anthony Neu and wife Traci of Chico; Paul Neu of Chico, 6 grandchildren: Thomas, Zachary, Brittanie, Paul Jr., Derek and Mellisa; 4 sisters: Lucille Grabber of McKinney, Cora Lee Kitten of Amarillo; Marie Macha of Marlin and Alice Hampton of Granbury; numerous nieces and nephews.
