Boyd ~ Helen Petty, 74, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Boyd.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Boyd.
Rev. Jeff Tackett and Pastor Mark Webb will officiate. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Steven Edwards, Charlie Winder, Joey Winder, Kenneth McCauley, J.J. Cooper, Brandon Withers and Stevie Brady.
Helen was born on February 18, 1940 to Albert and Beulah (Dill) Tackett in Sherman, Texas. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” C. Petty on April 29, 1972 in Boyd, Texas. Bill preceded her in death on October 5, 2003. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will sorely be missed by all that loved and knew her.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her daughter, Sandra Kay McCauley; 9 brothers and sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth McCauley and wife Petey of Paradise, Jay Petty and wife Pam of Kerens, Texas; her daughters, Reba Rivera and husband Jesse of Boyd, Joy McCauley and partner James Sheppard of Venus, Texas, Kim Brady and partner Tony Scifres of Boyd, Debbie Moser and husband Richard of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Carolyn Allen and husband Jerry of Colleyville, Texas; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends.
