Alvord: Helen June Joyce, 90, formerly of Irving, went to be with our Lord, Friday, July 5, 2013 in Irving, Texas.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9th at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with Revs. Bill Cleveland and Wayne Wood officiating. Interment: Pleasant Hill Cemetery located in Montague County, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Morgan Craft, Cody Joyce, Sean Johnson, Jonathan Joyce, Patrick Joyce, and Chris Pierson.
Helen was born February 26, 1923 in Weatherford, Texas to Frank and Willie Pearl (Woolsey) Mathers. She was united in marriage to John Wayne Joyce on October 29, 1939 in Fort Worth, Texas and was married 62 years at his death in 2001. Helen was also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Joyce; great-granddaughter, Caley Joyce; 1 brother and 1 sister.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her two sons, Randy Joyce and wife Donna and Ricky Joyce and wife Debra both of Irving; six grandchildren, Debra Cunningham and husband Bob of Irving, Cheryl Johnson and husband Joe of Fort Worth, Mandy Joyce of Arlington, Jonathan Joyce and wife Jennifer of Sunset, Patrick Joyce and wife Aundra of Justin; and Rebekah Joyce of Hickory Creek; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews and a host of friends.
