Helen Davis

Helen Davis, 83, of Alvord went to be with her Lord Friday, May 1st, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5th at Hopewell Baptist Church in Alvord with burial at Hopewell Cemetery. Family Visitation is 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 4th at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Sam Kirkland and Dan Sparkman will officiate. Pallbearers include Jeremy Davis, Tony Greer, Ross Jones, Cody Watts, James Weaver and Bryan Weaver. Honorary pallbearer Kyler Peace.

Helen was born May 13th, 1942 to Guthrie and Connie (McGee) McDaniel in Bowie, Texas. She attended Bowie High School and was a member of Hopewell Baptist. Helen was united in marriage April 9th, 1959 to David Davis in Alvord, Texas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, devoted friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Davis; Sister, Paula Terry; Brothers, Randall McDaniel and Conroy McDaniel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dana Davis Dawson & her husband Zackery, Rhonda Davis; her son, Ricky Davis and wife Toni; grandchildren, Jeremy, Amanda, Amber, Tony, Tiffany, Bethany, Bryan, James, Staci and Jennifer; a host of great-grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.

The family is gathering to eat at the church after the graveside.
