Bridgeport - Helen Cartwright, 80, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at East Bridgeport Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildre: John Mark Cartwright, Chrissy Hornberger, Heather Crow, Hilary McCown, Zachary McCown, Paul Brinkley, Kyle Price, Emily Price, and Allison Price.
Helen was born on March 8, 1934 to Robert and Susie (Latty) Day in Wellington, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Raymond Cartwright on March 9, 1951 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bowie where she taught children’s Sunday school. She was a room mother, PTA president, band trip chaperone and Boy Scout den mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Raymond Cartwright.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Cartwright and wife Joan of Wichita Falls; her daughters, Marcia McCown and husband Jim of San Antonio, Teresa Brinkley and husband Tim of Allenspark, Colorado, Sue Price and husband Stewart of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, John Mark Cartwright and wife Jennifer, Chrissy Hornberger and husband Brad, Heather Crow and husband Aaron, Hilary McCown, Zachary McCown, Paul Brinkley, Kyle Price, Emily Price, and Allison Price; her great grandchildren, Aaron and Zach Cartwright, Nathan, Johnnie, and Brice Crow; her brothers, Tracy Day and Richard Day; her sister, Blanche Manos; numerous nieces, nephews other family members and a host of friends.
