Heinrich August Downes, Jr. , 53, of Decatur passed from this earth Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Memorial service is 1 PM Thursday, October 1st, 2026 at White Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas.

Heinrich was born November 30, 1972 in Montgomery County California to Heinrich and Phylis (Hayward) Downes, Sr. He married Joanne Downes December 11, 1999 and remained married for 26 years. Heinrich completed school going on to receive his Masters degree in Law Enforcement and worked for the Wise County Sheriff’s office until his retirement. He then began work for White’s Chapel Methodist Church of Southlake. His greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren, Teegan and Tripp. Heinrich was a father, pepaw, and selfless, loyal, and devoted friend.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Downes of Springtown; his children, Destini Trachta, Hannah Porter, Adam Porter his son in-law and Landon Downes, all of Decatur, ; his grandchildren, Teegan Trachta and Tripp Porter; his siblings, Sheena Brewer and Priscilla Downes; his parents, Heinrich Downes, Sr. and Phylis Hayward; extended family members and a host of friends.
