Harold Loyd Dickenson, 92, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born on August 12, 1933, in Chico, to Almus and Bessie Newton Dickenson.
Graveside Service is 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 1st, 2026 at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
Loyd attended Chico Public Schools and grew up in the Lone Star community. He enjoyed a long career in the trucking business and treasured spending time with his family. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin and L.C.; and granddaughter, Jennifer.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Polly Belew Dickenson of Decatur; children, Paula Berg and husband Wayne of Decatur, Rex Dickenson and wife Susie of Decatur, Donny Loyd Dickenson and wife Sherry of Decatur, Randy Dickenson and partner Trew of Terrell, Tommy Harold Dickenson and wife Becky of Malakoff, and David Ray Dickenson and wife Melinda of Spring Branch; grandchildren, Christi, Stephanie, Rusty, Leslie, Jenny, Jeri Kaye, Natalie, Melaina, Dana, Shane, and Amy; a host of great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.
