Harold “Snuffy” Chancellor, 86, of Rhome left this earth Monday, March 30th, 2026 in Decatur.
Memorial Service is 11 A.M. Monday, April 6th, 2026 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Snuffy was born June 16th, 1939 to Jack and Marveline (Grigsby) Chancellor in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Carter Riverside High School. Snuffy was known as an exceptional Rodeo Clown and entertainer. He dedicated his life to both entertaining crowds and protecting the cowboys he worked alongside. His quick wit and fearless spirit in the arena made him a cherished figure in the Rodeo World. Snuffy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marveline Chancellor; his wife, Patsy of over 50 years; and his sister, Jill Jenkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Julie Pierce and husband Dale, and Laura Coffey and husband John both of Decatur; his son, Harold Wayne Chancellor of Newark; his brother, Ray Chancellor and wife Anita of Newark; 4 grand-children, Ty Pierce, Penny Taylor, Chelsea Melendez, and Chad Coffey; his great-grand-children, Bo, Navy, Crew, Jett, and Madison; and numerous extended Family and a host of friends.
