Alvord ~ Guadalupe Galvan, 75, a teacher, went to be with our Lord Sunday, January 11, 2015 in Decatur.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Saint Colette Catholic Church in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Burial is in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Guadalupe was born on September 26, 1939 to Leandro and Lidia (Carranco) DeLuna in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico. She was united in marriage to Jesus Heriberto Galvan on August 3, 1958 in Zaragoza. Guadalupe was an elementary school teacher. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Marcos Galvan.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Jesus Galvan of Alvord; her daughters, Lidia Galvan of Alvord, Ernestina Galvan of Palatine, Illinois, Magdalena Galvan of Carpentersville, Illinois, and Antonieta Morrow of Bakersfield, California; her son, Jesus Galvan, Jr. of Carpentersville, Illinois; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; her brother, Fernando DeLuna; her sisters, Maria Antonia Rodriguez, Josefina Sanchez, Lucia Lopez, and Maria Lidia Peña; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
