Gracie Nell Hudnall, 100, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 in Decatur, Texas. Graveside service is at 11:30am on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Aurora Cemetery. Damon Moore will officiate.
Gracie was born to Kannie and Durrell Hale on September 14th, 1924. She was married to Glen Hudnall in Gallipolis, Ohio on April 16, 1952.
Gracie was a homemaker and was very devoted to the greatest gifts in her life, her children and grandchildren, to whom she loved to care and cook for, bringing her great joy, great laughs, and precious memories.
She survived the Great Depression and World War II, becoming a master of southern cooking, particularly in the art of baking pies. Many people sought her out for her delicious pies, which were a favorite among her community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, and granddaughter Christina Kay Cocanougher, her brother, Jack Waldrop, and her sister Virginia Foley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Joyce (Charlie) Shates of Gallatin, TN, David Hudnall of Denton, TX, and Barbara (Preston) Cocanougher of Decatur, TX, along with grandchildren, Gabe (Lacy) Cocanougher and Jelly (Wes) McClellan, both of Decatur, TX; Jeff (Faith) Hudnall of Bella Vista, AR, Eric (Tosha) Hudnall of Arkadelphia, AR, Meshell (Jeff) Denning of West Moreland, TN, Kelly (Ronald) Key of Gallatin, TN, Mark (Lisa) Durham of Goodlettsville, TN, and Jerry Miles of Indianapolis, IN, 28 great-grandkids, and sister Camay (J.C.) Brady of Murfreesboro, TN. Plus many nieces and nephews.
